Manav Rachna International University has a strong legacy in developing meaningful interface with Industry, Trade and Commerce. Corporate Resource Center of the University is actively engaged in establishing and strengthening linkages with the employers in terms of training and placement of students, training of faculty, joint R & D and sponsored projects, developing competency based curricula, expert lectures and feedback on the performance of alumni etc. Although large number of multinational and national industries have been employing passouts from the University, it enjoys special relationship with some of the key players, as under:
- TATA Consultancy Services (TCS) has accredited Faculty of Engineering & Technology (formerly Career Institute of Technology & Management) and established a special relationship with the University. TCS-MRIU Pragati Project has been launched in the current year in joint collaboration with TATA Consultancy Services and Manav Rachna International University as a pilot project for first time in India, under which 20 B.Tech.-Computer Engg and Information Technology students have been jointly selected in the very 1st year to be imparted training in software development from the beginning with award of development projects by TCS to ensure employability skills of the highest order. Every year 20 students shall be selected and senior students shall become mentor to the junior students. The TCS-MRIU community shall have a mentor each from university as well as TCS.
TCS has also given valuable inputs on improving the curricula of B.Tech programmes to ensure employability skills amongst the passouts including those who are not part of this project. The academic autonomy enjoyed by the University has empowered it to revise curricula as per the suggestions given by the employers including TCS, WIPRO, Microsoft, Infosys, EMC2 etc.
- TCS has also been partnered for implementing Enterprise Resource Planning solution for total automation of university processes in the fields of administration, management, finance and academics. It contains 30 modules including Human Resource Management System, Payroll, Finance & Accounts, Purchase & Inventory, Facility Management and Campus Management including admissions, examination and gradation, learning management system, faculty/ staff/ student/ parent self service, private virtual community etc. Learning Management System Module comprises of teachers’ home page giving details like time table, subject taught, students enrolled, research undertaken, training undergone and other interests followed. This will enable teachers to post their notes in PDF, PPT and DOC format; upload videos/ animations/ simulations/ weblinks; announce exams/ quizzes/ tests/ assignments and have chat with the students enrolled in his/ her subjects. Students get alerts as and when new items of their interest get uploaded. Students may spend their time on-campus as well as off-campus through their self-service on going through the notes, videos, animations, simulations, weblinks etc. to enhance their knowledge and skills as per their convenience. Private Virtual community provides a platform for collaborative learning in the form of academic debates and chats. Students may submit their assignments online and even appear for online tests or quizzes etc. Assessment Module of the ERP enables a teacher to conduct online tests/ quizzes to evaluate the students. The faculty of the University is actively involved in development and configuration of various modules of ERP with the TCS Development Team to ensure trouble free implementation of the solution which has also resulted in their skill development in the field of ERP.
- An MoU has been signed with Maruti Suzuki Ltd. under which Maruti shall not only employ passouts from the University but also support the University in developing competency based curricula, expert lectures by Senior Managers, transferring machinery & equipment, tools, plants, assemblies, parts etc. for effective training of students, live projects for students, industrial visits and training of students and faculty etc. University shall provide facilities to the Maruti for qualification improvement of its employees at various levels.
- Infosys Technologies has launched Campus Connect Programme in FET under which faculty and students are trained for skill development aiming at enhancing the employability of University passouots. More than 320 alumni of Manav Rachna Educational Institutions have been placed in Infosys.
- EMC Corporation, largest manufacturer and provider of Information Storage Systems and services thereof has established EMC Academy under which faculty and B.Tech students are trained in Information Storage and Data Mining to improve their employable skills.
- Services of Corporate trainers in various fields have been availed to ensure high employability skills amongst the students. M/s Aspire Human Capital Management Pvt. Ltd. has been taking care of communication and soft skills and M/s JBM Cadmium Pvt. Ltd. Is taking care of training in computer aided design and drafting and computer aided manufacturing. Communication skills, Aptitude, Team Building skills, Personality development, Business Etiquettes, C & C++, DBMS and AutoCAD have been made compulsory for all students to enhance their employability. JBM Cadmium is offering Value Added Programmes in SOLID WORKS, CATIA, NASTRAN, ANASYS to all interested students with assured placements after successful completion of the programmes.
- An MoU has been signed with iCarnegie Inc, a subsidiary of Carnegie Melon University, Pittsburg, USA (CMU) to provide instructor-led training to B.Tech students in skill centric academic programmes developed by Professors of CMU starting from session 2011-12.
- An MoU was signed with Spyker Cars, Netherlands, under which a batch of 16 M.Tech students were trained in Automotive Design and Technology of international standards.
- IB Turbo PVt. Ltd. Ghaziabad has sponsored a project for developing a prototype of an externally fired Sterling Engine for conversion of thermal energy into mechanical energy. PIL, Rudrapur, Perfect Bakery Faridabad and L R Foods Pvt. Ltd. Faridabad have also sponsored projects on Herbal Plants, Mushroom Cultivation and Purification of Ground Water Reserves.
